CBRN Certification Now Accredited by the Accreditation Board for Specialty Nursing Certification (ABSNC)

In this editorial (see p.1-2), Gretchen Carrougher, MN, RN, CBRN, Burn RN Supervisor, UW Medicine Regional Burn Center (Seattle, WA), and Amy Grand, MSN, RN, ICE-CCP, Director of Certification & Accreditation, BCEN, highlight the national accreditation of the Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN) certification program, its significance for the burn nursing specialty, and the value of CBRN certification in advancing professional practice. They also congratulate the more than 660 nurses across North America who had earned the CBRN credential.(Note: The CBRN statistic in the editorial was as of August 2025; as of January 2026, the number of CBRNs had risen to 722.)
