Investment in the Future of Nursing Fund

Driven by our vision that every patient across the emergency spectrum will receive care from a BCEN-certified nurse, BCEN’s Investment in the Future of Nursing Fund offers professional development scholarships for individual nurses to obtain initial certification, recertification or attend a BCEN Learn Live conference.

Six circular certification badges in different colors labeled: CEN, CPEN, TCRN, CFRN, CTRN, and CBRN, each with unique icons—perfect for showcasing nursing scholarships or key emergency nursing credentials.

Certification & Recertification Scholarships

BCEN will award funding for up to 20 initial certification exams and up to 25 recertification exams in this award cycle. Funding will be awarded in the form of a BCEN Voucher to be used for payment by the award recipient and is applicable to any BCEN certification exam, including the CEN, CPEN, CBRN, TCRN, CFRN, or CTRN.

Initial certification exam or recertification, whether by exam or CE attestation, must be accomplished within 12 months of the date the voucher is awarded. Registered Nurses with an unencumbered nursing license are eligible to apply for these BCEN scholarships once per calendar year. Those interested in the recertification scholarship must hold a current BCEN credential.

Logo with the words "Learn LIVE" over a red and blue background, featuring an icon of four people at the top—ideal for promoting nursing scholarships and educational opportunities.

BCEN Learn Live Scholarships

BCEN will also award funding for up to 5 BCEN Learn Live conference registrations applicable to the BCEN Learn Live Las Vegas conference taking place July 21-23, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Each award recipient will receive one complimentary conference registration, a choice of attending one pre-conference session, and two nights of hotel room and tax at the event hotel selected by BCEN.

Award recipients will be responsible for all other expenses related to attending BCEN Learn Live, including any applicable taxes, all travel expenses, including airfare, ground transportation fees and expenses, meals and other expenses. Registered Nurses with an unencumbered nursing license are eligible to apply for this BCEN scholarship once per calendar year.
