Traumatic brain injury (TBI), a leading cause of mortality and long-term disability worldwide, can lead to a cascade of complications that trauma and emergency nurses must be able to identify quickly in order to ensure the best patient outcomes. Drawn from the new BCEN Learn course “Critical Care Management of Traumatic Brain Injuries,” this article highlights 4 such complications.
