Who is eligible to participate in the Test Assurance program?
Nurses who meet the requirements to sit for their BCEN certification exam at the time of application may participate in the program. Log into your BCEN account to begin the application process.
- The Test Assurance option is only available for initial certification and is not available for individuals who are recertifying by exam.
- Test Assurance cannot be added to a previously purchased exam application.

How do I apply for Test Assurance?
Test Assurance is an option you can select within your exam application. When presented with the question “Do you wish to enroll in Test Assurance?” simply choose “YES” from within the application.

What is the cost for the Test Assurance program?
The Test Assurance option is $70.00. This cost is automatically added to your exam registration fee.

What happens if I pass the exam on my first attempt?
Congratulations! You are now BCEN certified!
You will not be able to take a second exam attempt. Test Assurance program costs are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What if I do not pass the exam on my first attempt?
If you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, Test Assurance allows you one additional attempt to pass the exam.
You must wait 90 days before you can take a second attempt. Log in to your BCEN account to find your eligibility window.
Your second attempt may be taken up to one year after your initial exam date. If you do not submit a retest application within 1 year of your initial exam date, the second attempt is forfeited. BCEN cannot extend this date.

I would like to take two BCEN exams. May I participate in Test Assurance?
Test Assurance is not transferable between certifications. Both attempts may only be applied to the same certification exam, however, you can choose to purchase the Test Assurance option for each of the BCEN certification exams.

Can my organization purchase vouchers to participate in the Test Assurance program?
Yes! Employers and groups of nurses may purchase BCEN Test Assurance Vouchers.

I missed my exam appointment. Can I use my second attempt to reschedule?
Once the Test Assurance option is purchased, candidates may use their second exam attempt ONLY after they have taken their first attempt and did not pass. Test Assurance may not be used for any other purpose, including:

- Failure to schedule and sit for the first exam appointment within the 90 day testing window.
- Failure to show up for a scheduled exam appointment.
