Announcing the Development of BCEN’s Newest Credential… the CBRN!

In case you missed our March 15  , we’re excited to reveal the name of our burn nursing certification —the Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN)—and debut how the credential will appear.

Burn Nurse Survey is Underway

As part of the burn nursing role delineation study (RDS) process, a large-scale burn nurse survey is taking place from March 15 – April 15. As with each certification BCEN develops and maintains, the survey asks nurses working in the specialty from across the U.S. and around the world to describe their roles and responsibilities and the knowledge, skills and abilities they need to do their job.

Together with comprehensive input from the 12 subject matter experts serving on the BCEN’s Burn Nursing Certification RDS Advisory Committee, the vital data from this survey informs the development and weighting of certification exam content and ensures exams are current, accurate and relevant.

Burn nurses wishing to participate in the study who did not receive a survey invitation should contact BCEN Director of Certification and Accreditation Amy Grand at . We would like to hear from every burn nurse, so please feel free to pass this information along.
