BCEN Staff Gives Back with Philanthropic Community Service Initiative

On October 20, the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) held a philanthropy day at Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) in Aurora, IL, where they packaged meals for starving children and families in remote countries around the world. BCEN staff based in Louisiana, Kansas, Alabama and Michigan flew into BCEN’s Oak Brook headquarters for the very special day.

FMSC is entirely donor-funded, with over 90% of donations devoted directly to feeding children. In addition to their time packaging food, BCEN was proud to donate the funds to provide a pallet of food and cover the fees associated with food processing and shipping.

Along with several community volunteers, the BCEN team packaged 53 boxes of food. Through their combined efforts, BCEN’s philanthropic initiative will provide food for over 50 kids over the next year.

In alignment with their values, including Collaboration & Community, BCEN is excited to continue volunteering and participating with other community initiatives.
