Pediatric emergencies are low-frequency but high-stakes events, making everyday preparedness essential for every emergency department. This workshop provides emergency nurses with a practical, hands-on approach to operationalizing the National Pediatric Readiness Project (NPRP) within their own clinical environments. Participants will receive a concise overview of core pediatric readiness elements and explore how SimBox—an open-access, point-of-care simulation tool—can be used to strengthen clinical competence, team communication, and pediatric-specific workflows. Through interactive discussion and case-based activities, nurses will learn how to identify system-level gaps revealed through simulation and develop actionable, nurse-driven strategies to improve readiness and ensure safer, more effective care for children.
