Nominate Your Emergency, Trauma, Transport or Burn Facility or Health System for BCEN’s 2025 National Certification Champion Award

Annual National Award Recognizes Organizations’ Commitment to Nursing Specialty Excellence

WHAT: With its annual National Certification Champion Award, the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) recognizes healthcare facilities and health systems that:

  • Exemplify excellence in supporting RNs and APRNs who pursue any of BCEN’s six national board certifications
  • Show achievement in designing and implementing effective and innovative practices and programs that encourage, support, and recognize nursing specialty certification across the emergency spectrum
  • Demonstrate the impact of a board certified emergency, trauma, transport and burn nurse workforce on patient, nurse and organizational outcomes.

BCEN is now accepting nominations for the 2025 National Certification Champion Award. New this year, burn centers and burn center networks are invited to apply.

One national winner will be selected in the following categories:

  • Small Healthcare Facility
  • Large Healthcare Facility
  • Health System

Please visit the BCEN Awards page for category descriptions.

WHO: Hospital-based and freestanding emergency departments (EDs), trauma centers, flight and/or critical care ground transport programs or bases, health systems—and new in 2025, burn programs, burn centers and burn center networks—are encouraged to apply.

To be eligible to be nominated or self-nominate, organizations must be actively engaged in supporting their RNs and APRNs to earn and maintain BCEN certification and serve as a model for advancing specialty board certification.

WHEN: Nominations are due by Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:59 pm CDT.
